Vintage Villeroy & Boch Biarritz Cake Plate

Rather striking classic German Midcentury Modern yellow and black cake plates of the series Biarriz.

The backstamp of these is very interesting, as it‘s made by Villeroy & Boch in France-Saar between 1947 and 1958. France-Saar was separated from Germany and placed under a French economic, political, and customs protectorate. In 1957 the Saar region voted to become part of Germany again and is now the State of Saarland.

Made in Germany from glazed porcelain.
Dia. 19cm

PLEASE NOTE: These are vintage items so small signs of use are to be expected but they are in full working order with no chips or cracks.
