Striezelkinder are not just for Christmas.

Striezel is the name of Germany's oldest Christmas Market in the south eastern city of Dresden. Striezelkinder (Kids from Striezel) were street vendors in the 1800's, selling Pflaumentoffeln, a figure made entirely from dried prunes, as well as toys and Christmas decorations,

This particular design won a gold medal at the 1937 World Expo in Paris and just like then is still entirely hand-painted.

Hand-made in Germany in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) from hand-painted wood. Read more about the Erzgebirge on our blog HERE.

13 and 15cm tall.

PLEASE NOTE: Not suitable for children under the age of three.
